This study aims to descriptively and explanatorily analyse the Profile of Emotional Competence (PEC) of a group of students of the mathematics Olympiad, physics, biology, and chemistry. To achieve these objectives, we selected 160 students at the baccalaureate level, all of whom were studying the mentioned disciplines. A set of measurement tools was also used, especially the Profile of Emotional Competence questionnaire. The presented statistical analyses focus on raw and standard scores using the SPSS software. The main data processing was carried out with univariate descriptive analyses, reliability analyses, bivariate descriptive analyses, and multivariate analyses. Results show that the majority of subjects in the sample have a level of emotional competence (EC) overall average, with no difference in mean between boys and girls. Gender, hence, has no simple significant effect on subjects' overall emotional skills. The results also indicate that there is no significant overall interactive effect between the intrapersonal emotional skills and the interpersonal emotional skills of the subjects.
