For the sixth issue of the Journal of Quality in Education (JoQiE) we have chosen a theme which it aims to help highlight the organic link between the preparation of the elite and the strengthening of innovation. This issue of JoQiE raises the question of care that the education and training systems reserves within the narrow class of pupils and students with high potential, who constitute the base capable of supplying the area of scientific research and technology.
