L'Addiction au Smartphone : Frein ou Moteur ? Une Modélisation par Équations Structurelles (PLS-SEM) de son Impact sur l'Engagement Cognitif et Comportemental des Adolescents

Cette étude visait à examiner comment la dépendance aux applications pour smartphone affecte l'engagement cognitif et comportemental des adolescents. À l’aide de la méthodologie PLS-SEM, un échantillon de 236 adolescents du secondaire a été analysé pour tester la relation hypothétique entre l’utilisation d’un smartphone et deux aspects de l’engagement scolaire.
Les résultats ont montré qu'une utilisation excessive du smartphone avait un impact négatif et significatif sur l'engagement cognitif (β = -0,14, t = -4,71, p < 0,001), confirmant ainsi l'hypothèse selon laquelle cette dépendance nuit aux capacités cognitives des adolescents. . Cependant, l'analyse montre que l'utilisation du smartphone n'a pas d'impact négatif sur le niveau d'engagement comportemental (β = 0,25, t = 4,39, p < 0,001), rejetant respectivement l'hypothèse. Les indices d'ajustement, tels que SRMR (0,043) et RMSEA (0,056), indiquent que le modèle utilisé est suffisamment fiable pour évaluer les relations étudiées. En résumé, cette étude met en évidence l'impact différentiel des smartphones sur l'engagement scolaire, soulignant des implications importantes pour les enseignants, les parents et les décideurs politiques en matière d'éducation.
