Recruitment, reception and integration of international students Case of the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi (UQAC)
Main Article Content
Abstract
With the advent of the information revolution, education has emerged as a determining factor in the development and prosperity of societies and, as a result, as a condition for harmony between countries. This conviction is supported by the globalization of economies and the creation of regional market groupings.
Without a doubt, the presence of international students on university campuses is fruitful both for the host university and for local students, due to the cultural diversity, institutional influence and economic spinoffs.
As a result, a broad question emerges: where is the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi and the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region positioned in relation to the mobility of international students?
The study first proposed to examine the process of recruiting, welcoming and integrating international students at the university as well as in the aforementioned region and, secondly, to develop strategies to increase the number of students in this category and facilitate their academic, social and professional integration.
