School Dropouts among Girls from Rural Areas

Résumé
La croissance et le développement des femmes sont inévitablement liés à l’accès à l’éducation. Cependant, au Maroc, la situation actuelle de l’éducation des femmes est décevante. En fait, les statistiques de la Banque mondiale sur la rétention scolaire des filles en milieu rural sont à un rythme alarmant en raison des attitudes sociales et des pratiques culturelles qui dévalorisent les femmes. Le Maroc ne fait pas exception et il fait partie des pays où le nombre d'analphabètes est élevé malgré tous les efforts déployés par le gouvernement et les organisations non gouvernementales (ONG) pour éradiquer l'analphabétisme et les abandons parmi les filles des zones rurales. Les recherches liées à ce phénomène n'ont pas abordé les problèmes, ses causes, ses répercussions et ses recommandations. Le présent article tente de fournir un compte rendu complet de la situation actuelle des abandons scolaires dans la société marocaine à la lumière des objectifs de l'Éducation pour tous (EPT). Le manuscrit cherche à esquisser les principales raisons qui rendent la scolarité difficile, voire impossible, et à proposer quelques recommandations que les décideurs politiques marocains devraient adopter avec soin pour surmonter tous les obstacles. Le présent document va plus loin pour comprendre les causes et les effets de ce fléau qui retarde le développement de la femme, de la famille et de la société en général.
