Towards the use of MOOC tools in teacher training New challenge for improving and adapting the teacher's level to new requirements
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Moroccan education system encounters many problems and obstacles for the establishment of continuous training of trainers in the best conditions. In particular the availability, the implication and the motivation of the teachers, the choice of the quality and the adaptability of the trainings at the levels of the trainers, the follow-up of the periodic trainings and especially the lack of time to move in order to follow in-person his trainings continue.
Currently, and with the availability of training and distance learning platforms, such as MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), several periodic continuing training courses, in favor of trainers, can be offered and organized by government agencies. The aspect monitored remotely, can improve the level, motivation and involvement of teachers and therefore the feasibility and adaptability of these training courses in better conditions more appropriate to the situations and commitments of trainers.
Several projects launched by the state in the field of training through the use of MOOCs like Coursera, EdX, Udacity and FUN. Teachers can follow very specific and specialized distance training on a national and international scale, without having to travel, and in slots planned according to their choices and well suited to the sessions of their work. They can also interact with other teachers from around the world to discuss, learn from their experiences and exchange course content and new working methods.
Our contribution attempts to emphasize the expectations of teachers in terms of periodic continuing education. It offers an educational work plan, using information and communication technologies (ICT), aligned with international educational systems for improving the level of the teacher. It then proposes a set of managerial processes for the moral and material motivation of teachers, their massive involvement and integration in continuous and periodic distance learning using MOOCs. Finally, it suggests the inclusion in these continuing education courses of real, efficient and effective approaches to the use of information and communication technologies for education (ICT) to facilitate their daily work.
